Nose
I love drams finished in Oloroso casks and this one looks just up my street!
There are floods of runny toffee with sweet honey and Bourneville chocolate and a bit of cinnamon. It suggest Christmas cake with a bit of liquorice
Palate
Initially very fruity with mango and apricot but then masses of oak, maybe too much? It’s surprising that it’s only 40% as this would benefit greatly from being a higher ABV IMHO
It’s certainly smooth and drinkable neat. I think this would be an excellent digestif after pudding.
Finish
Very smooth but very woody with more liquorice at the tail.
