I was recommended this dram by a bloke that I met at an exhibition this week. He said he wasn’t a whisky drinker but loved this, so I ordered this and he wasn’t wrong.
The nose is massive on vanilla, toffee and caramel and a smidgen of wood smoke and then the sharpness of freshly cut, nippy, green apples.
On the palette it’s immediately recognisable as a young dram but with lots of character. It’s sweet and easy to drink despite its 46.3% ABV, and with a spicy kick latterly.
The finish isn’t massively long but pleasant and a wee bit woody.
Overall this is great for such a young dram and well worth the reasonable investment but not especially memorable.
