I was a bit cynical about choosing this due to the smoky references as I’m not about peat but it was a pleasant surprise
The nose is very smokey but not as dark as a peaty whisky. It’s also about freshly cut wheat when you run amongst it with flowery overtones
The palette is initially sweet with vanilla and orange with the kick of lime before mellowing to vanillas and toffee.
The finish is very long, smooth and dry with more smoke but without the harshness of peat
