This was the dram that changed my opinion about Irish whiskey. It has a lovely colour and fine slow moving legs due to its oily consistency. Ideal for Paddy’s Day
The nose is really woody with spice and toasted nuts and quite oily commensurate with maturation in Oloroso Sherry butts
On the palate is creamy toffee with fruit, marzipan and nuts. It’s really full bodied and a pleasure to turn over and over
The finish is long and smooth like custard with fruit and very pleasant
This is not only my favourite Irish whiskey but one of my go to drams altogether
I can’t recommend this highly enough and especially if, like me, you thought that “proper whisky doesn’t have an E!”
